One of the things that Jessie LOVES to do is unpack our groceries. She rushes to the kitchen to unpack all the bags. She can't wait to see what might be hers (popcorn chicken, hummus, cookies, etc.) Today was no different when Jon came home from his weekly Kroger run. The only difference is that I made her wear gloves then wash her hands when she was finished.
Speaking of washing hands … one of the things we've worked with Jessie for several years is washing her hands. She doesn't like to do it. She'd rather use hand sanitizer. Using that is ok once in awhile, but there's nothing like soap and hot water. Ever since the Coronavirus came to town, we've been trying very hard to make her wash her hands a lot. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. It depends on her mood I guess. We keep trying. Maybe one day she'll go to the soap and water first before the hand sanitizer.
