I Can't Believe Tomorrow Is May 1

Where did April go? I have no idea.

The past couple of weeks have been very busy. We emptied Jessie's bedroom, it was painted a robin's egg blue at Jessie request, and then an artist friend of mine has been painting murals on the walls. I can't wait to share the finished room to you. It's absolutely adorable. It is the most inviting room in our home. I wish I could do something like that to my room.

Jesssie's Art and Gym classes took a break for a couple weeks but starts up this coming week. One of those days Jessie, Rachel, Diane and Brent met at Play Place for the morning, then lunch out.

Another day they all met at the mall and walked around. Jessie was pretty crabby that day and a couple days prior to that, complaining of the side of her throat and mouth hurting her.

That afternoon, she pulled what looked like a polished stone out of her mouth. I searched her teeth to see if it was part of a tooth, but I couldn't find a broken tooth. Besides, the item she pulled from her mouth was very smooth.

L-o-n-g story short, it's a TONSIL STONE !!  Ever hear of one? Me either. Jon hadn't either. You'll have to look it up on the internet to see what it is. Poor kid.

Only thing I can say is, this is par for our family - weird things usually happen to us.

A couple days after that incident, she returned to "normal", whatever that is. No pain, anyway.

Jon went to Indiana to visit his best friend last weekend.

I've been learning what I can eat since being diagnosed with many allergies. I'll have to look back at my blog to see if I've mentioned that before I give you the whole story again.

I've missed visiting with you. I've missed recording my daily events, if only for myself in years to come.

Here's to a great MAY !!!

He Is Risen! He Is Risen Indeed!

Happy Easter to all my family and friends who follow me. Jon had to work so it was just Jess and me for most of the day. Unexpectedly, Jessie slept in until 9:15 a.m. It took her only a couple minutes to find her basket, because I only hide them upstairs now.

Easter baskets are filled with very little candy, but wrapped presents.

After Jon got home from work Jessie helped him find his basket since he couldn't find it. That's just too funny because it was almost in plain sight.  Then she helped him open his gifts. Diane and Randie came for dinner and stayed to visit for several hours. It was a really nice day.

A special blessing to me was that Jess and I watched Woodside Troy live at 11:30 a.m. on my iPad and Jessie sat next to me on the couch and sang the songs along with me and listened to the entire service. I was so blessed by that. Thank you, God, for a sensitive, spirit filled daughter who loves you !!

Getting Ready For Easter

Jessie was insistent on buying the bunny ears and bow tie a week ago and decided to wear them today. She gets so excited about any holiday that's coming up.

This year I did not decorate for Easter like I've always done, so I haven't heard about "ten presents" in her basket yet. I'm sure I'll hear it on Saturday, though.

Thanks to Jessie, we laugh in this house every day.

We are repainting her bedroom and the other night she went in to her room and said, "Bye, bedroom!"  "By bedroom!"  Walked out and shut the door. Guess she's ready for a change!

Jess At Art Class

I "stole" this picture from FB last night. Diane, Brent's mom, posted it of our "kids" at Art Class yesterday. Jessie loves arts and crafts. Considering the fact that she's tactile sensitive, I'm amazed that she's holding a wet painted egg.

"Our" Baby Travis

Two weeks ago Chris' daughter-in-law, Ashley, married to Sean, gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Unfortunately he took over 24 hours to arrive, but he is doing well and Ashley is recovering nicely.
We went to Chris' last night for dinner and Sean, Ashley and Travis came so we could see him. Jessie won't go in their house because of the stairs leading up to the doors. I wanted to share some pictures with you - and have them for my book ...

Jon got to hold Travis first.

We were a bit skeptical whether or not Jessie would like the baby or
how she would react. She did wonderful! She was mesmerized by his tiny
feet and hands.

Travis has a good hold of Jessie's thumb! She loved it.
Isn't he adorable?

Travis got passed around a lot, except to his
Momma Ashley who graciously watched us hold her son.

Daddy Sean changing his son's diaper.
Sean took 2 weeks off of work to help with the baby
while Ashley rested. He's off to a very good start as a husband/father!
