This has been a fun harvest season. Jon has canned green and purple beans. We've blanched and frozen sugar snap peas. Potatoes, carrots, onions and beets are stored in the basement. This afternoon Jon (with a little of my help) made Ratatouille. We froze 3 meals. There was quite a bit of preparation for this, but it turned out really well. This weekend I think we'll be canning green beans again! Did I mention we bought a dehydrator? We're going to try our hand at that, too!
Jon has already begun to plan additions to his garden for next year. He's going to do a small herb garden and then we can dehydrate our own herbs. Now is the time to buy garden stuff for next year and he's been doing that, too! Alot of work but fun and satisfying.
