Jess and I picked up Debbie at 800 a.m. and we arrived at Spring Lake Wesleyan Church for Hannah and Jacob's bridal shower at 1:15 p.m. (We would have been there 45 minutes earlier but we were stuck in a traffic jam for that long!) It was a very nice shower. They make a nice couple, don't they? Jacob is Jon's best friend and he will be standing up in the wedding.
When we left the church we drove to Grand Haven, which took all of about 7 minutes. We went to the State Park and there was a Kite Festival. HUGE kites. LOTS of people! A fun time though.
We then drove to The Shack near White Cloud to spend the night. As you can see from the pictures below, it is a unique bed and breakfast. The grounds were beautiful. We had a kitchenette that had two bedrooms and a fire place. It was very nice.
It also included a buffet dinner (a salad, then roast beef, chicken cutlets, bbq pork, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls and carrots. Oh, and delicious bread pudding!) Iced tea, lemonade or water with hot tea of coffee. No dessert because at 8:30 we came back to the lodge and had banana splits (we were so stuffed we just had a scoop of ice cream).
